The economic crisis caused by the COVID pandemic has highlighted just how important it is for the government to provide stable retirement benefits, and for employers to honor their promise to workers and pay full pensions. In Congress, she cosponsors legislation to strengthen and extend Social Security and take steps to make it solvent into the future. She will continue to support full funding for both Social Security and Medicare and push to increase contributions for federal pensions so that workers receive the full benefits they deserve. Marilyn understands that Social Security and Medicare are EARNED benefits and she’ll do everything to not only protect what you’ve earned, but to increase benefits to Social Security while preserving solvency. She has also fought to lower the cost of prescription drugs and is a cosponsor of legislation directing Medicare to negotiate drug prices, which would lower drug costs for those on Medicare and private insurance alike.
