Protecting Women’s Health
Marilyn strongly supports a woman’s right to choose and voted for the Women’s Health Act. She will continue fighting attempts to restrict access to birth control and women’s health care. Reproductive rights are not just a health issue for women; it is an economic empowerment issue. That is why it is crucial that we act to protect women’s rights and reproductive freedom. In Congress, Marilyn has been a champion for reproductive rights. A member of the Pro-Choice Caucus, she has called on the Department of Health & Human Services to reduce barriers to continuous access to birth control by requiring insurance companies to cover a 12-month supply of birth control. She has also co-led the introduction of legislation to ensure service members receive the quality reproductive health care they deserve. Marilyn is also a member of the Black Maternal Health Caucus, and cosponsored the Black Maternal Health Momnibus Act.
She will continue to protect funding for Planned Parenthood and access to birth control, and will oppose all attempts to overturn Roe v. Wade.
