Rep. Suzan DelBene Endorses Marilyn Strickland for Congress

(TACOMA, WA) – Marilyn Strickland, candidate for Congress in Washington’s 10th District and former Mayor of Tacoma, today earned the endorsement of Congresswoman Suzan Delbene (WA-01) following her decisive victory in the primary election.

Marilyn’s track record of proven leadership through an economic crisis and her deep community connections make her the clear choice to represent the South Puget Sound in Congress,” said Delbene in a statement. “She will be a strong addition to the Washington state delegation and I am proud to support her.”

Congresswoman DelBene has represented the people of WA-01 since 2012. She serves on the House Ways and Means Committee and has been a champion for Washingtonians on everything from affordable and accessible healthcare to creating job opportunities for all to consumer data privacy rights.

Strickland adds the endorsement of Congresswoman DelBene to endorsements from former Governors Gary Locke and Christine Gregoire, former Congressman Norm Dicks, eleven sitting members of Congress, Tacoma Mayor Victoria Woodards, State Auditor Pat McCarthy, former the Evergreen State College President Les Purce, former State Superintendent of Public Instruction Terry Bergeson, the News Tribune, the Seattle Times, the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 612, local and national Asian-American and African-American leaders and advocacy organizations, and is the only candidate in the race who has earned the Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Distinction.
