Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland has been named a Co-Chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s Frontline Program to help Democrats retain incumbent seats and reclaim the majority in 2024. In this leadership role, Congresswoman Strickland will advise incumbent House Democrats seeking re-election in some of the nation’s most competitive races.
Frontline is the DCCC’s battle-tested program to provide Democratic Members of Congress from competitive seats the resources to execute effective reelection campaigns. This cycle, 29 incumbent Members of Congress have been named to the program after Democrats overperformed nearly every expectation in 2022.
“We can reclaim the majority in 2024 because we stay focused on delivering for our communities and building a more safe, more just, and more secure future. Instead of an obsession with banning books, voter suppression, stripping away the right to safe and legal abortion, and empowering extremists, Democrats are focused on improving people’s lives. I’m honored to serve in this leadership role at the DCCC to help ensure my front line colleagues have the support and resources they need to win in 2024,” said Congresswoman Strickland.
“House Democrats are unified and electrified to take back the House in 2024, send extreme MAGA Republicans back to the minority and continue our work delivering For The People,” said House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries. “As a former mayor turned tremendous legislator, Congresswoman Strickland knows how to run in competitive races and communicate with communities across every zip code. Protecting our Frontline Democrats remains our top priority – and Congresswoman Strickland stands ready to help flip the House.”
“Our mission to take back the House majority cannot be achieved without protecting our Frontline,” said DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene. “Congresswoman Strickland – who I have had the privilege of serving with for over two years now as a member of the Washington state delegation – has an astute understanding of common-sense policies that will resonate with voters from coast to cast. I am honored to welcome Congresswoman Strickland to our team so we can continue our fight to put People Over Politics.”
In addition to her leadership role with the DCCC’s Frontline Program this election cycle, she is a Chief Deputy Whip in the House Democratic Caucus, Whip of the Congressional Black Caucus, and Chair of New Democrat Coalition National Security Task Force. Congresswoman Strickland also serves on the House Armed Services Committee, the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, and is a member of the New Democrat Coalition.
